Lawyer and a historian

I am a lawyer and a historian; my courses typically focus on the different forms of racial discrimination from slavery to present day. Students can expect to explore a range of topics in my classes, from the use of rap lyrics in criminal prosecutions to racial violence to cultural appropriation. They can also expect to compare the meaning of race and racial discrimination in the U.S. and other countries such as France, Haiti, Cuba and Brazil.
