Who is My Advisor?

Our advising model is based on empowerment and self-advocacy. So, before reaching out to Dr. Smith please complete the following:

1. Review your status in DegreeWorks

2. Complete the form that is most appropriate for you

3. Once you have completed #1 AND #2 please reach out to Dr. Smith

The bachelor's degree in Africana Studies is an interdisciplinary major focusing on the experiences of Africa-descended populations worldwide, especially in Africa, North America, the Caribbean, South America, and Europe. Its comprehensive liberal arts curriculum emphasizes culture, history, social policy, health entrepreneurship, social justice and social responsibility. The curriculum prepares students for career in the private and public sectors, and offers critical liberal arts education for lifelong personal growth.
